WHAT IS FOOD FOR THE POOREST?
We are a group of Christians who felt that practical charity through the Love of Christ to the poor is a sine quo non to our faith and our work in God’s Kingdom. Food for the poorest is fundamentally an NGO, who not only tend to cater for the physical demands of the poor in Africa and parts of Asia, but also create a platform for the continued reverence of God’s mercy and favor upon his children irrespective of their human and social status. We are responsibly committed and passionate to giving succor to the poor with love and compassion. For our humble work of charity, Food for the poorest has received global commendations from allied international agencies, religious bodies and their leaders, and government organs. Food for the poorest is god’s divine mandate to us, to do the will of the Almighty in demonstrating love and compassion.
HOW DOES FOOD FOR THE POOREST OPERATE?
Our organization is not a church, but a body championing to remedy the plight of the poor in our society. However, we rely on the network of local churches and faith based organizations to get directly to our beneficiaries in the remote areas of Africa and parts of Asia. Imperatively, the reality of our work lies in the benevolence of men and women of good will, who have shown a burning desire to help assuage the feeling of rejection among the poor in our society. How food for the poorest operates is a pertinent question. We cater for the poor through cash donations, medical supplies, food materials, clothing, educational advocacy, building materials and other concerns of the poor in our local communities. Our driving force is the “need assessment” before our intervention; this entails efficiency and reduces cost of the resources acquired. Cost efficiency is also a major aspect of our operations because we buy food in bulk for onward shipment to the concerned areas of Africa and some parts of Asia.
